Women in Business Network Yorkshire

Members offer: 1 free business meeting per year

Paula Grizzard and her team run WIBN Yorkshire. The Women in Business Network is a membership organisation for women who wish to gain new business opportunities through word of mouth. Launched in January 2005 WIBN has an extensive network of local groups around the UK and in the Republic of Ireland with a membership in excess of 2000 and growing on a monthly basis. They offer business women a forum to network their business and meet likeminded individuals. WIBN Membership is open to both business owners and employed women.

WIBN members support and encourage each other through collaboration and the sharing of business contacts and opportunities. They operate a one profession per group policy to ensure that each member is given the very best targeted help from the other members of their group.  WIBN attract all types of business, from part time to full time, from new to established businesses, sole traders to corporate businesses, offering you a wide variety of different people to meet.

The monthly meetings offer a supportive and business focused environment, with all meetings run to an agenda. The group leader facilitates the monthly meeting using the structured format which has made WIBN so successful over the years. The meetings achieve results for members and visitors.

The meetings are held between 12 midday and 2pm. Not only do the 1st and 3rd party referrals flow at each meeting but solid strategic alliances are also formed.

Paula started out her professional life working in Local and later Central Government. Headhunted as the first Director of the Rotherham Economic Partnership she spearheaded the redevelopment of Rotherham after the coal closure programme.

With over 20 years running her own Management Consultancy Practice she has used her expertise in the field of Economic Development as an advisor to the Department for Communities and Local Government on regeneration Strategies and most particularly Business Development. She has worked extensively in Central and Eastern Europe advising Governments on areas such as Governance, Business Development and Employment Strategies.

Combining her passion for business and talent as an entrepreneur, Paula has started up and run a number of successful businesses. The latest is Women in Business Network Yorkshire where she brought WIBN to Yorkshire and now has 14 flourishing groups. She has developed a community of businesswomen meeting monthly to think about and develop their business, product or service. She says “it’s gratifying to set up a new group and see businesswomen immediately begin to work together. These businesses are a growing force and indeed are the Northern Powerhouse.”
